Britannia Row’s Butterfly at work in one of the world’s most famous theatres

At London’s Royal Opera House - one of the most famous opera theatres in the world and home of Britain’s prestigious Royal Opera and Royal Ballet companies - Britannia Row Productions’ Outline Butterfly did its job perfectly as the "Front of House" system for sound reinforcement at the BAFTA ceremony, the British equivalent of the “Oscars”, awarded to personalities from the cinema and television world since 1947.

The cinema awards are called the "Orange British Academy Film Awards" and once again at this year’s edition numerous Hollywood stars walked down the famous red carpet.

To ensure audio coverage for the audience, twenty Outline Butterfly C.D.H. 483 Hi-Packs and four Subtech 218 were flown (respectively ten and two per side), the latter for the ultra-low frequencies. Six more Butterfly C.D.H. 483 were used as ground stacked systems.

The entire system was controlled by a Dolby Lake processor and powered by Outline’s new "T Nine" digital power amplifiers (2 x 4800W on 2 Ohms): the latter weigh in at just 12 kilos and only occupy the space of a single rack unit.

The FOH engineer for the event was Derrick Zeiba.

Il Butterfly di Britannia Row di nuovo 'all'opera' in uno fra i teatri più famosi del mondo

Alla Royal Opera House di Londra - uno dei teatri dell’opera più famosi del mondo nonchè sede delle prestigiose compagnie britanniche della Royal Opera e del Royal Ballet - l'Outline Butterfly di Britannia Row Productions ha svolto perfettamente il suo "lavoro" quale sistema "Front of House" per amplificare la cerimonia dei BAFTA, gli 'oscar' britannici che, dal 1947, vengono assegnati nei campi del cinema e della televisione.

Quelli cinematografici si chiamano The "Orange British Academy Film Awards" ed anche nell'edizione di quest'anno sono state molte le star di Hollywood a sfilare sul proverbiale tappeto rosso.

Per coprire l'audience presente sono stati sospesi 20 moduli Outline Butterfly C.D.H. 483 Hi-Pack e 4 Subtech 218 (rispettivamente 10 e 2 per lato), questi ultimi a supporto delle bassissime frequenze. Ulteriori 6 moduli Butterfly C.D.H. 483 fungevano da sistemi 'ground stack'.

Il tutto veniva controllato da un processore "Dolby Lake" e amplificato dai nuovi finali digitali Outline "T Nine"(2x4800W su 2 ohm): 12 kg di peso e una sola unità rack di spazio occupata.
