At the PLASA show Outline is presenting a number of new products:

Kanguro System - release 2008

Launched in 2000 and winner of the 2001 “PLASA Award for Product Excellence”, the Kanguro system - “the speaker within a speaker” - has been upgraded, achieving an even better performance:price ratio.

The already excellent acoustic and mechanical designs haven’t undergone any important changes, so the 130-plus dB SPL with hi-fi quality is still ensured, as is the clear sensation of “big” sound and extremely easy adjustment. The two-channel 1000-Watt PWM amplifier module + DSP and top class components (a 15”, a 12” and a 1” driver) ensure astonishingly high headroom for a cabinet with such dimensions.

The Kanguro 2008 fears no competition from an “IT” point of view either.

Thanks to its new network card (designed by Outline’s in-house technical team), the DSP can be controlled in such a way as to exploit its capacity to the utmost. Thanks to an RJ 485 connector mounted on the sub’s rear panel, it can be controlled via TCP/IP protocol.

The project’s completed by proprietary software - Outline E.Q.U.I.P. (Equalization Using Internet Protocol) - which ensures a multitude of settings (ten parametric and two shelving filters, polarity, two gain and two delay controls on output, as well as the control of a virtually unlimited number of interconnected enclosures and many other possibilities).

For those who prefer not to use a computer, there are four presets (of which one is a factory-set default configuration), which can be recalled from the rear panel of the sub at the press of a button; these are useful when there are very different acoustic requirements in the course of an evening. Thanks again to the proprietary E.Q.U.I.P. software, when a PC is used, the only limit is users’ fantasy.

ET250-3D

At the PLASA show, Outline is also presenting its new ET250-3D turntable for measuring loudspeaker enclosures’ polar dispersion - the model currently on the market has been the world standard for this type of application since 1990. Further details will be available shortly.

Stand K39 will also host the new mini-COM.P.A.S.S. ultra-compact line array with adjustable directivity (first consignments by the end of 2007), the entire range of DVS enclosures and the Genius M 412, a digital matrix in a single rack unit (four inputs and twelve freely configurable outputs), controllable via proprietary software and fitted with the most powerful DSP on the market.

Proprio in questi giorni al Plasa Show di Londra (9/12 settembre 2007) Outline sta presentando i seguenti nuovi prodotti:

Sistema Kanguro - release 2008

Lanciato nel 2000 e vincitore, nel 2001, del “Plasa Award for Product Excellence”, il sistema Kanguro - “la cassa nella cassa” - si modernizza per raggiungere un rapporto prezzo/prestazioni ancora migliore.

Il già ottimo progetto acustico e meccanico non subisce variazioni di rilievo tant’è che gli oltre 130 dB di SPL con qualità hi-fi restano assicurati, così come la netta sensazione di suono ‘grande’ e la facilità estrema di regolazione. Il modulo amplificatore PWM a due canali + DSP (1000 Watt) e i componenti di pregio (un 15”, un 12” e un driver da 1”) procurano un ‘headroom’ inaspettato in relazione alle dimensioni dei cabinet.

Anche dal punto di vista ‘informatico’ il Kanguro 2008 non teme confronti.

Grazie a una nuova scheda di rete - progettata interamente nei laboratori Outline - è possibile pilotare il DSP sfruttandone a fondo le capacità. Quest’ultimo, grazie a un connettore RJ 485 situato sul pannello posteriore del sub, è pilotabile attraverso il protocollo TCP/IP.

Completa l’opera il software proprietario Outline E.Q.U.I.P. (Equalization Using Internet Protocol) che permette una moltitudine di regolazioni (10 filtri parametrici, 2 shelving, polarità, 2 gain e 2 delay su uscita nonchè il controllo di un numero virtualmente illimitato di diffusori in rete e moltissime altre possibilità).

Ma per chi non volesse usare il computer sono stati previsti 4 preset (di cui uno di ‘default’ impostato in fabbrica) richiamabili dal pannello posteriore del sub mediante la semplice pressione di un tasto; utili qualora nel corso della stessa serata le esigenze ‘acustiche’ fossero molto diverse. Nel caso di utilizzo del PC l’unico limite, sempre grazie al software proprietario E.Q.U.I.P., è legato alla fantasia dell’utente.

ET250-3D

Outline presenta al Plasa anche la nuova base rotante per la misura della dispersione polare dei diffusori acustici (ET250-3D) e ricorda che il modello attualmente (ET2-ST2) in commercio è divenuto lo standard mondiale, dal 1990, per questo genere di applicazioni. Maggiori dettagli saranno disponibili a breve.

Allo stand K39 saranno visibili anche il nuovo compattissimo line array mini-COM.P.A.S.S. a direttività regolabile, tutta la linea di diffusori DVS e la matrice digitale a una sola unità rack Genius M 412 (4 ingressi, 12 uscite liberamente configurabili), pilotabile via software proprietario ed equipaggiata con i DSP più potenti sul mercato.
